Come explore a plethora of new, free technologies that allow you to collaborate, communicate, and create with just a few clicks of your mouse. As you use these tools to improve your personal productivity, facilitate professional collaboration, and creatively motivate students' language use, work will soon feel like play!
Description: Come explore a plethora of new, free technologies that allow you to collaborate, communicate, and create with just a few clicks of your mouse. As you use these tools to improve your personal productivity, facilitate professional collaboration, and creatively motivate students' language use, work will soon feel like play!
Content: Participants will learn about free, online tools that will improve their personal productivity such as CutePDF, del.icio.us, Diigo, Foxit Reader, Google Tools, Jing, LetterPop, MeetingWizard, Picnik, Reqall, SurveyMonkey, Zamzar, and Zotero. They will also explore tools that facilitate professional collaboration, such as Buzzword, Google Notebook, Twitter, and wikis. Finally, they will consider how sites such as Bubbleply, comic strip generators, Dumpr, Motivator, MyBrochureCreator, Scrapblog, Xtranormal, Voicethread, Weebly, and other such tools can inspire students to use the target language in enjoyable ways. (Note: Not all of the tools listed here will be demonstrated. The presenter will prepare demonstrations of all of these tools, and then select those most appropriate to the audience during the actual presentation.)
